Scented Candle Prices in Pakistan: What Your Rupees Buy

It usually happens the night before someone's birthday. You're sitting on the bed with your phone, three tabs open, trying to work out whether Rs. 2,000 is too little and Rs. 7,000 is too much, while ammi calls from the other room to ask if you've sorted the gift yet. Candles look simple until you start comparing them. So here is a plain guide to scented candle prices in Pakistan, or at least ours, and what each price actually gets you.

We'd rather you knew exactly what you're paying for. Every candle we make is hand-poured in Lahore using 100% soy wax, so the price differences below come from size, jar and what else goes into the box, not from different quality levels.

Scented candle prices in Pakistan, starting small

Our Signature Series is where most people begin. These come in amber glass jars in two sizes: 3.5 fl. oz for Rs. 2,199 and 8.5 fl. oz for Rs. 3,599. Same wax, same scents, same care. The only real question is where the candle is going to live.

The small jar is right for a bedside table, a study desk or a first try of a scent you're unsure about. The larger one is for a living room, or for someone who already knows they love a particular scent and wants it around for a long time. Sakoon Scent, our wildflower blend, is priced slightly higher at Rs. 2,300 and Rs. 3,800.

Then there are our Old Classics, the glass jars that started it all, in 6 fl. oz for Rs. 2,499 and 8 fl. oz for Rs. 3,499. Some people simply prefer the look. Some like a size that sits between the two amber jars.

When the candle needs to say something

A plain candle is a lovely gift. A candle with your words on it is a different thing altogether. Our Make Your Own Candle is a 3.5 fl. oz amber jar with your own message on it, in the scent you choose, for Rs. 2,300. That's only a hundred rupees more than the plain version, which makes it the gift we'd point most people towards when the budget is tight but the feeling isn't.

Write the inside joke. Write her name and the date you met. Write the thing you'd never manage to say out loud at the dinner table.

Gift boxes, and what is inside each one

Gift boxes cost more because they hold more, and because someone has already done the thinking about how it all fits together. Here is what a few of ours include, so you're not guessing:

A little over Rs. 4,000, in handmade ceramic

Our Ceramic Handmade Candle is Rs. 4,500. The price reflects the vessel as much as the candle. It's the kind of piece you keep on a shelf long after the wax is gone, holding earrings or a few stems from the garden.

Not a candle, but the same scents

Some homes aren't candle homes. Maybe there's a toddler who reaches for everything, or you'd rather not leave a flame going while you're at work. Our reed diffusers are Rs. 3,500 and carry scents like Motia, Oudh-ul-Shams and Japanese Garden without any flame at all. Room and linen sprays are Rs. 2,100, for a quick spritz on the razai or the sofa cushions before guests arrive.

So how much should you spend

Less than you think, usually. If it's for yourself, a 3.5 fl. oz jar in a scent you love is enough to know whether it's the one. If it's for someone close, a custom candle at Rs. 2,300 will mean more than something twice the price. If it's for a big occasion, a birthday you've been planning for months or a thank-you to someone who carried you through a hard year, that's when a gift box earns its place.
